A few years ago, I remember reading something described as being “cooler than the other side of the pillow”. It took me a little bit to figure it out, but it’s an apt metaphor for Tumblr tumblelogs.

Tumblr tumblelogs are like blogs, but simplier and media rich. You have a choice of six types of posts:
- Regular post
- Photo
- Quote
- Link
- Conversation
- Video

Adding a photo is as simple as browsing for the photo and writing a caption. The other types of posts are just as easy to create.
I’ve been having fun with the tumblelog I’ve created. It’s a place where I’m combining media and quotes into a quasi-portfolio of my projects both past and present.
If you’ve wanted to create a blog, but don’t want to write lenghty posts or struggle with the technical side of things — consider creating a tumblelog.
