The slides illustrate how I divide camping and kitchen equipment between two plastic, three-drawer organizers. I believe I got the idea from David and Carol Peterman. I’ve been using the organizers for years. Other things have come and gone, but the organizers have stayed because they work. They’re also perfect for storing the gear in-between camping trips.
I have two extra three-drawer organizers, in the garage, that I empty in late August and use for my clothes. They are easy to transport and help keep my clothes out of the dust. Until I put them on…
Last year kYtten brought the shelves and support tubes from a plastic shelving unit similar to the one on the right. They made great tables. Compact for travel, rugged for playa use, and easy to clean later. That idea was sixteen different kinds of clever!
The 19th slide in the slideshow shows a three-drawer organizer in my “supplies” tent and two of the shelf-tables in the foreground. (The large conical object on the left-hand table is a blinky light that Planet Steve built.)
The first two years I went to Burning Man, I had everything in a disorganized series of copy paper boxes. I was forever searching for things. Having things just a little more organized, has allowed me to spend less time searching, and more time doing what I want to do.
