Seattle’s Urban Craft Uprising

Seattle Center cat statue
This past Saturday, I went to the Urban Craft Uprising at the Seattle Center. It was a great sunny day and I was looking forward to the adventure.

It was small (compared to the Seattle Home Show) but just right for an hour, or so, of exploring. I bought a bar of soap from Estrella,

a card from Pushing The ‘Lope,

and a pack of thank you cards from Shorthand Press.

I also got a chance to briefly chat with Bre Pettis about the MAKE magazine weekend projects video he did with Allison Kudla: Make Your Own Thanksgiving Turkey Out of Paper!   I commented that it was nice to see something come out of the DXARTS program that didn’t require using a supercollider or electron microscope.

I saw several hand-bound journals that inspired me to learn, and do more with bookbinding.  I also saw scarves, shirts, and belt buckles, but I wasn’t in a clothes buying mood.

All-in-all, I had fun and was inspired!
